Following are descriptions of positions for which we are currently recruiting:

Systems Configuration Engineer - Co-op/Intern - REM Services

including spring, summer and fall semesters

Co-ops and interns will, based on their abilities and experience, process/edit project documentation, edit CAD drawings, build or edit graphical displays to be used by plant operators in controlling plant processes, edit design specifications, build control panels, develope custom software tools and/or databases, and possibly visit customer sites on service calls and preventative maintenance appointments.  Sales support tasks may include quote preparation assistance and demo development.  Limited overnight travel to support REM Services engineers in customer checkout, startup, and plant studies may be required.  Familiarity with piping and instrumentation diagrams, as well as experience with Visual Basic, JAVA, HTML, XML, C++, and/or AutoCAD, and Word are desired.  Access database experience a plus.  Candidates should be rising sophmores or juniors (undergrad only) working toward a BS degree in CHE, EE, Computer Eng., Computer Science, or Mechanical Eng. and should have at least a 2.75 GPA in major.  Strong verbal, written, multi-tasking, and project team skills required.  The position is located in Charlotte, N.C. with housing options available nearby on the UNC-Charlotte campus.  We typically hire students who can work multiple full-time work terms on a rotating basis including spring, summer and fall, but we sometimes do have need for students on a summer-only intern or part-time basis.

Systems Configuration Engineer - New Grad - REM Services

Work with distributed control systems (DCS) configuration design and implementation tasks, including writing code and documentation, for assigned projects.  Develop software applications for the process control industry.  Develop,  test, and start-up DCS configurations as required.  Support sales efforts on specific opportunities by assisting with coordination of product/system demonstrations, site visits, and training classes.  Position includes involvement in project management and engineering troubleshooting and follow-up, including upgrades and add-ons.  Position involves an average of 25% travel; mostly in NC/SC.  Other duties as required.

Applications Engineering/Inside Sales - New Grad – R.E. Mason Company

Specify and design process control equipment for major industrial facilities.

Incumbent will receive and process telephone, e-mail, and fax requests for product information, quotes and orders from customers, and will offer additional products the customer may need. Will follow through on orders, expedite shipment of goods. Will answer customer questions on availability of stock, shipment dates, and any technical matters that may arise. Will attend to the financial terms and conditions required to finalize a sale. Coordinate activities and share information with outside sales staff/account managers to insure that project requirements are met. Based on eventual knowledge of complete product line, develop bills of materials; develop quotes with project quotation team; coordinate and manage all stages of scope development, ordering, invoicing, and delivery stages of projects, once a quote has been won. Qualifications: May, 2008 or December, 2008 graduate with bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related engineering degree. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening skills, initiative, and must be a dependable, professional team player.

Applications Engineering/Inside Sales Co-op/Intern – R.E. Mason Company

Co-ops and interns will work in the engineering sales area for valve and regulator parts, simple valve assemblies and process control accessories; will prepare orders for Order Entry, including orders from quotations done by full time Applications Engineers; will process quotations; will handle customer telephone inquiries. Duties also include order tracking, routine order expediting, interfacing with customer, factory, and account managers (outside sales associates). Will help manage customer expectations and factory relationships. Will identify sales and service leads for account managers. Also will assist with updating the Quote-to-Order Tool customer data base. Other duties as required. Familiarity with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), as well as experience with Word and Excel are desired. Access database experience a plus. Candidates should be rising sophomores or juniors (undergrad only) working toward a BS degree in CHE, EE, Mechanical Eng,. Industrial Eng. and should have at least a 2.75 GPA in major.
